Anyone claiming job seekers' allowance can apply for the scheme
Unemployed people could qualify for £1,000 and expert advice if they decide to start-up their own business.
People across Hertfordshire, including Borehamwood, can benefit from the government initiative set up to help job-seekers become self employed.
Residents have up until September to apply for the new scheme, dubbed New Enterprise Allowance.
Under the project, anyone claiming job seekers’ allowance can get business mentor support to help develop their plans or start a business.
Those who come up with a viable business plan could then be entitled to the cash over a six month period, to help with start up costs.
