A tree is shredded
As the post-Christmas clearout begins to draw to a close, people are being encouraged to recycle their cards at pop-up centres.
Throughout January, residents in Hertsmere can recycle their festive cards at the Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Newberries Car Park, Radlett, and Andrew Close, Shenley.
A bumper crop of trees have also been shredded and recycled in Hertsmere, thanks to a council initiative.
Just over 190 trees were taken for shredding at locations around the borough – the highest number in six years.
