Residents in care homes across Borehamwood are being asked to delve into their past and share tales of days-gone-by.

Healthcare organisation Bupa is asking people to share their stories – or favourite fables or poems – to help celebrate National Storytelling Week.

Held annually, the week which begins on January 26, aims to increase awareness in the value of sharing stories.

Siobhan Drane, Bupa’s community and partnerships executive, said: “Care home residents love listening to stories.

“This is a great way to get members of the local community involved and bring different generations together as people of all ages can take part.

"Hopefully these events will help maintain the ancient art of storytelling and encourage people to keep the tradition alive."
