Hertfordshire County Council says its energy switching scheme can save people money
3:02pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in News By Anna Slater
Householders are being encouraged to sign up to the council’s new energy switching scheme to help save them money during the winter months.
Hertfordshire County Council launched the new Keep Well Stay Safe campaign in a bid to help people save up to £200 a year on their energy bills.
Energy suppliers will be invited to bid their lowest price to everyone signed up on the scheme, and residents will have three weeks to decide whether to switch providers.
Councillor Robert Gordon, leader of Hertfordshire County Council, said: “Money is tight in many households – especially at this time of year – and we’re keen to do what we can to help our residents save money.
“The collective switching scheme is an excellent way for Hertfordshire’s residents to save money on their energy bills, without having to talk to all the suppliers individually.”
