A children’s charity supporter has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours list.

Dr Ann Goddard, from Borehamwood, has been awarded with a medal of the Order of the British Empire for services to the community in Hertsmere.

Her work includes supporting the Elstree branch of the NSPCC, for which she raised £4,000 by hosting a Christmas fair last month.
