Arsenal goalkeepers took a trip to a Radlett school earlier this week to take part in a literacy quiz.

Vito Mannone and Lukasz Fabianski teamed up with year five and six pupils at Newberries Primary School to test their skills.

The quiz, based around the club’s Double Literacy programme, saw the players act as team captains for a quiz based on BBC1 television show A Question of Sport.

Arsenal's double literacy programme fuses football and education together to form a fun and enjoyable way for young people to engage in their academic studies and football at the same time.

Children also took part in a 'Who Am I?' round in which they had to describe the Arsenal player who appeared on a big screen in front of their blind-folded captain.

The event was watched by the entire junior school and was hailed a “huge success”.

Steve Eadon, a coach for the programme, said: “The kids were so visibly enthused by the players’ visit and this will give them an added boost throughout the rest of their time at school.”
