Girl Guiders and Air Cadet leaders are celebrating after getting cash grants.
The Borehamwood Girl Guide Association were given £400 and the Air Cadets in Rossington Avenue will receive £500.
The guides, aged between ten and 15, will be using the money to pay for repairs at their headquarters in Maxwell Road.
The cadets are saving up to buy a new computer to help teenage members prepare for their Duke of Edinburgh award exams.
Cadet leader Raymond Edge said: “We are very happy – they do some of these exams online so this will help them study for them all.
“They do not yet know we have received this grant yet so I am really excited to tell them.”
Both groups were awarded the money through Hertsmere Borough Council’s Ward Improvement Scheme, in which councillors are given £1,000 to spend on projects.
