Hertsmere Borough Council has scooped two gold medals in a regional competition.

The council’s communications officers Catherine Feast, Gail Anderson and Keely Smith won the prizes in the Thames and Chiltern regional PR awards.

The awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, recognise public relations success and achievement and this year saw over 1,000 entries.

Council leader Councillor Morris Bright said: “I am very pleased the communications team won these awards.

“This is a significant achievement in itself and recognises the hard work that goes into our communications to keep our residents up to date with what is going on in the borough.”

A recent consultation showed that 74 per cent of residents and 88 per cent of staff feel the council keeps them well informed.
