Girl guides, brownies and scouts from Radlett have completed the final stage of challenge organised to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year.

On Saturday, November 10, five guides and four leaders from the 2nd Radlett Guides, as well as two scouts and a brownie completed a 60 kilometre walk which they split into six stages over the year, by arriving at Buckingham Palace.

According to leaders, participants really enjoyed seeing the sights of London.

Susie Branigan, leader, said: "The guides really enjoyed seeing the sights of London, especially the Olympic Park and the Orbit on the first stage they walked and the entertainers by Jubilee Gardens on the final stage.

"Everyone learned lots about London and its buildings, parks and history as they walked along the bank of the Thames, as well as under it through the foot tunnels and over it on bridges."

Upon arrival at Buckingham Palace, participants received their Walk London certificates marking completion of the entire 60km route.
