Four cars were left damaged after a crash near Stirling Corner last night.

Nobody was injured in the smash-up, which happened just 100 yards from the A1, near Morrisons, just after 5pm.

A grey Audi, a silver Dodge Nitro, a Renault van and a silver land rover were all cleared from the carriageway by 7pm.

Two of the cars were badly hit but the other two were only left with minor scrapes and were able to be driven home by their owners.

Campaigners who say the area is a “death trap” for motorists are calling on 24-hour traffic signals to be installed in the area.

But at the time of the accident, the lights, which are currently only activated between 3.30pm and 6.30pm on weekdays, were switched on.

GLA member for Barnet Andrew Dismore has launched a safety survey in a bid to convince Transport for London (TfL), who own the roundabout, to take action.
