Children drew their magic wands and recited spells at a special Witchcraft and Wizardy workshop at their school.
Edge Grove Primary School, in Aldenham Village, was transformed into Hogwarts School of Wizard and Wizardry last Thursday, October 25.
The nine to 11-year-olds dressed up as their favorite Harry Potter characters and welcomed four science teachers from Felstead School, in Essex, who ran the workshop.
Alison Sefton, the head of science at the sister school, ran the interactive science event, which also saw the year five and six pupils try out invisible ink.
Miss Sefton said: “It was an absolute pleasure to come to Edge Grove. Students were given the opportunity to experiment with a red cabbage potion, allowing them to test for acids and alkalis.
“They also loved studying the reactivity of metals. Burning magnesium in a Bunsen Burner was certainly a highlight of the day.”
