Skies will be aglow of red, yellow and blue Catherine wheels at a fireworks display for bonfire night.

Hundreds of people will descend to Meadow Park, Borehamwood, for the display to commemorate Guy Fawkes on Monday, November 5 at 7pm.

The spectacle, hosted by Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, has been running for over 20 years.

This year’s display will include fireworks set to a musical sound track, and lighting displays to complement the glow of the traditional fire.

And to mark the occasion, groups of children aged ten to 16 who live or go to school in Elstree or Borehamwood can enter the traditional Penny for the Guy competition.

Mayor of the Town Council, Charles Kelly, will be judging the best Guy – with the winner having pride of place at the top of the Bonfire.

To enter the competition, fill out an application form and bring your group’s Guy to Meadow Park at 6.15pm.

People are advised to use public transport or come on foot to avoid traffic congestion.
