Hairdressers wore their most stylish outfits when they hosted a tea party to raise cash for the Peace Hospice.

Staff at Josephs Salon, in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, baked cakes and offered free teas and coffee to passerby’s on Saturday.

The group say that donations are still pouring in, but have so far raised £200 – far more than they originally expected.

April Payne, a 21-year-old hairdresser, said: “We all got into the swing of it, we all had a great time.

“I am so pleased with how much it went and cannot believe people are still dropping by to donate, the amount of support we have had is overwhelming.

“We all had a giggle dressing up in our aprons too. People kept coming in to say how impressed they were with what we are doing.”

The team decided to hold the annual fundraiser to raise cash for the Watford-based hospice to support customers who have been treated there.

After seeing how successful this weekend’s fundraiser was, they are now hoping it will become a yearly event.
