Borehamwood and Elstree neighbourhood policing team

Sgt Alistair JONES

I am responsible for running the Borehamwood and Elstree Safer Neighbourhood Team which consists of four neighbourhood police officers and nine PCSOs. I took up the role of Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant having previously performed the same role in Potters Bar and Shenley. I use my ten years’ experience as a detective and encourage my team proactively to deal with crime and anti-social behaviour as well as offering a reassuring policing presence. My team regularly meet and listen to local residents, execute warrants and are highly visible, spending the majority of their time out on the streets.
Borehamwood and Elstree are great places to live and I would like to reassure residents that we can help resolve issues, but we also need residents to do their bit by reporting crime and anti-social behaviour to us and by joining local organisations like Neighbourhood Watch.

Insp Richard Johnson

I have been the neighbourhood inspector in Hertsmere since February 2013. As such I have responsibility for community safety, in conjunction with the other Hertsmere Community Safety Partners, and for delivering neighbourhood policing across the borough.

My team comprises of three Safer Neighbourhood Teams, each comprising of a sergeant and several constables and PCSOs. The three teams cover Borehamwood and Elstree, Bushey and Radlett, and Potters Bar and Shenley. Additionally, I have a community safety team dealing with events, licensing, anti-social behaviour and hate crime. We also have Special Constabulary colleagues and police volunteers.

Our main partners are Hertsmere Borough Council - who lead on housing, parking and environmental issues (contact on 020 8207 2277) and Hertfordshire County Council - who lead on Highways, street lighting, social services and education (contact on 0300 123 4040)
