Borehamwood and Elstree neighbourhood policing team

Sgt Tony Watson

I have been a police officer for 12 years and recently became the Borehamwod Neighbourhood Sergeant, responsible for four neighbourhood officers and eight PCSOs.
With our partner agencies, we deal with crime and anti-social behaviour as well as offering a reassuring policing presence to residents in Borehamwood and Elstree.
Our neighbourhood priorities are the most topical issues that local people have asked us to deal with. If you want a say in deciding on the priorities (listed below), call us, email us or write in or come along to one of our advertised surgeries.

Insp Richard Johnson

I have been the neighbourhood inspector in Hertsmere since February 2013. As such I have responsibility for community safety, in conjunction with the other Hertsmere Community Safety Partners, and for delivering neighbourhood policing across the borough.
My background is mostly operational, with 20 years’ experience on patrol, in custody suites, as a traffic officer and as a firearms officer.
My team comprises of 3 safer neighbourhood teams, each comprising of a sergeant and several constables and PCSOs, covering: Borehamwood and Elstree Bushey and Radlett and Potters Bar and Shenley. Additionally, I have a community safety team dealing with events, licensing, anti-social behaviour and hate crime. We also have Special Constabulary colleagues and police volunteers.
I am very proud of the 18% reduction in crime that my team has helped deliver in Hertsmere this year (2013-2014), along with the 30% reduction in anti-social behaviour.
