Borehamwood and Elstree neighbourhood policing team

Sgt Graham Thomson

I have been the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Borehamwood and Elstree from August 2014. As such I am responsible for the Neighbourhood Constables and Police Community Support Officers for the area.
my back ground for policing is varied, I started my career as a frontline officer covering the St Albans area from 2002. in 2008 I moved from St Albans to join the Safer Neighbourhood team here in Borehamwood as A ward Constable. I had much success in this area and was responsible for implementing a number of diversionary activities during the summer mid term breaks, thus reducing Anti social behaviour within my ward.
My work within this team assisted greatly with my promotion to Sergeant, where I took the reins of a front line intervention team within Borehamwood. after two years I took the step to come back to the Safer Neighbourhood Team, now as a Sergeant where my intention is to bring back some of the excellent work my team and myself have done in previous years.

Insp Richard Johnson

I have been the neighbourhood inspector in Hertsmere since February 2013. As such I have responsibility for community safety, in conjunction with the other Hertsmere Community Safety Partners, and for delivering neighbourhood policing across the borough.
My background is mostly operational, with 20 years’ experience on patrol, in custody suites, as a traffic officer and as a firearms officer.
My team comprises of 3 safer neighbourhood teams, each comprising of a sergeant and several constables and PCSOs, covering: Borehamwood and Elstree Bushey and Radlett and Potters Bar and Shenley. Additionally, I have a community safety team dealing with events, licensing, anti-social behaviour and hate crime. We also have Special Constabulary colleagues and police volunteers.
I am very proud of the 18% reduction in crime that my team has helped deliver in Hertsmere this year (2013-2014), along with the 30% reduction in anti-social behaviour.
