Catfights don’t come any better than the clashes between Alexis Colby and Krystle Carrington in the popular ’80s US soap Dynasty. The arrival of British actress Joan Collins in series two as Linda Evans’ on-screen love rival sent the ratings soaring and Dynasty went on to win the Golden Globe in 1984 for best TV drama series.

Of course, it is only one string to the well-tuned bow of Joan, whose off-screen relationships have famously included Warren Beatty and five husbands. Now the British star who conquered Hollywood and returned home to wow audiences on the West End stage is back in town for One Night With Joan – an anecdotal evening featuring the stories and secrets of one of the world’s most glamorous and beguiling personalities.

Her four autobiographies have divulged much but there’s nothing to match Joan in the flesh. At the age of 68 she was still showing off those amazing legs and cutting an impressive figure in the 2001 production Over The Moon and this year, age 78, she’s back on our screen advertising a chocolate bar.

From the iconic Cinzano commercials of the ’70s where Leonard Rossiter spills drinks down her dress, through to her saucy Marks & Spencer Christmas adverts, Joan has always chosen to add a dash of humour to the proceedings. Now audiences can appreciate the one-liners and wit first-hand.

Joan Collins will be at The Alban Arena, Civic Centre, St Albans on Tuesday, March 13 at 7.45pm. Details: 01727 844488, alban-arena.co.uk
