Acoustic debuts for Music in the Parks

Enterprising musicians from St Albans have their chance to shine this Sunday as the popular Music in the Parks showcase returns to Clarence Park.
Featuring a feast of acoustic performances this free concert provides a platform for talented songwriters and a chance for people who regularly entertain on the local circuit to debut new work.
The line-up includes Harpenden guitarist David Hoare whose quirky ditties such as Pizza Hut Song , Cheese Song , The Cave Song and The Greebo Song reflect on everyday life. Last year David embarked on a project to upload 30 songs to YouTube in 30 days.
St Albans-based singer-songwriter Alex Lilly is currently working on her first EP with her new band and has plans to embark on a small tour around the UK this year. Backed by guitarist Gavin Beale, Alex is a spirited and unique vocalist and definitely a talent to watch.
Joanna and James from popular local band The Sunflies have been working together on a new acoustic project called The Vaulted Skies, which features gothic overtones and haunting vocals, while St Albans band The 45’s (pictured) have spent the last few months developing new material while taking a break from performing live.
The concert will also feature a number of floor-spots from regular performers from The Blue Angel Acoustic Café. The Café is held every Sunday at The Horn, compared by Bill Johnson.
Music in the Parks events are provided throughout the summer by St Albans City and District Council at Verulamium Park, Clarence Park, Rothamsted Park and Redbourn Common. The concerts feature an eclectic line-up of talented local artists.
