Spring is on its way so green-fingered types will enjoy Mike Beech's talk on the The History of the Victorian Glasshouse on behalf of Harrow National Trust. The event opens with the early history, from around 1550 near Fleet Street, London where Whitefriars glassworks originated. It then looks at how a small jobbing glasshouse producing largely utilitarian glassware, developed into one of Europe’s most creative and innovative producers of top quality Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau glass.
The talk is at Harrow Arts Centre, Elliott Hall, Uxbridge Road, Hatch End on Tuesday, March 6 at 8pm. Details: 07813 593315, harrownta@yahoo.co.uk
