Radlett-based artist Raina Goran is having an exhibition of her paintings at the Radlett Centre in April.

Her exhibition, Rhythms of the Landscape is a collection of expressive, semi-abstract paintings of seascapes and landscapes.

The vibrant colours and sweeping brushstrokes result in exciting paintings, which are full of movement and energy.

Her previous experience as creative director of greeting cards at Athena comes out in the stylish designs of the paintings, which particularly suit contemporary interiors.

Raina says: “Painting has always been a passion for me. I discovered that when I listen to lively music and move about when I paint, the energy comes out in the painting.”

Many of the paintings were inspired by places she has visited on her travels. One theme which keeps recurring is the coastal scene.

Raina explains: “Having spent my early years living on the English coast, I am particularly drawn to painting the sea as it evokes many memories.”
