A 55-year-old who was adopted as a baby says seeing a member of his birth family again would be the perfect Christmas present.

Ian Bundell, who lives in Portsmouth, is hoping to trace his biological aunt Rita Beavis, who he thinks lives in Harrow.

Mr Bundell, an unemployed security officer, was born in Hornsey named John Beavis.

As a baby he was placed in a children’s home in East Finchley.

From there he was adopted in 1959 and taken to live in Portsmouth.

In 1992 he was briefly in contact with Ms Beavis, but they lost contact.

He now wants to find the 68 or 69-year-old so he can be in touch with a biological relative.

Mr Bundell said: “She is my auntie and I would like to see her again.

“It would be a perfect Christmas present. It is the one thing that I really want.

“I want to meet her so that I can learn more about my past – I want some answers.”

He added: “I just want to give her the message that I love her and I miss her.

“She’ll certainly remember me because I stepped on her toes giving her a hug when we met in 1992 – I was so nervous.”

If you are Ms Beavis and would like to contact Mr Bundell, please call the Harrow Times news desk on 07824 530110.
