HOCKEY star Kate Reynolds continues to impress after returning from an international tournament in Holland, writes Daniel Milligan.

Reynolds, 17, from Bridgwater, scored four goals from seven matches at the three-day tournament which Great Britain came fourth in with teams from Canada, USA, Switzerland and Holland competing.

The midfielder is in the final of the National Cup next month with Richard Huish College after their 2-1 semi-final win over Northern-based Greenhead College.

Reynolds, who captains the British Colleges side, also stormed the National Championships from her college, scoring six goals in seven games.

She was part of the successful Taunton Vale Hockey Club that gained promotion to the national league this season and she said she was happy with how the year has gone on the pitch.

She added: “It has been amazing and I feel very proud to have represented my country.

“The best match in Holland was against the Dutch because they won the overall competition and we drew 0-0 with them.

“The season is nearly over now but I’ll be keeping my fitness up and hopefully get into the university team when I start later in the year.”

Reynolds admitted that her next aim on the international hockey circuit is to be selected for England Under 21’s and if results this year are anything to go by, then she has every chance.
