    Shenley Village 256-8 (53 overs).

    London Colney 186-5 (46 overs).

    Match Drawn.

    Saracens Hertfordshire Division Three.

Shenley Village's 1st XI made a solid start to the new season with a good draw against local rivals London Colney at the Shenley Cricket Centre.

After losing the toss, Shenley Village, newly promoted to Division Three of the Saracens Hertfordshire League, were put into bat.

Following a good opening partnership between Anooj Vadgama (47) and Richard Evans (15), Pasha Ali and Mahela Undugodage brought Shenley Village to a decent position with four wickets down.

After a mini collapse, Shenley recovered to reach a more than respectable 256-8 off 53 overs, thanks to some excellent batting from skipper Rahul Gajjar, who top-scored on 48, alongside their overseas player Ryan Hammill.

London Colney opening bowler Uzman Zaman bowled unchanged for 23 overs, finishing up with figures of 4-100.

In reply, London Colney never looked like reaching the target after Imran Yousaf and Craig Rawlings (3-21) impressed with the ball.

They finished on 186-5 off 46 overs, with Tim Fretter making 48.

Shenley Village earned 15 points, while London Colney took seven points.
